Safely riding in vehicles

Driving across town for gasoline or across the country on vacation, bringing your 4 legged family members is a lot of fun. Nobody plans to be in an accident, but they happen. Frequently, lost dogs are a result of a vehicle accident where the un-secured pup bolts from the scene, scared to death and in an unfamiliar area. Read below for some proven vehicle safety tips.

Riding safely in back seat with harness and tether

NEVER in front seat - Yes, it's fun to have your pup riding in the front passenger seat next to you or even in your lap while driving, but are they safe during an unplanned event? The front passenger seat is the most dangerous location in your vehicle for both accident impact and also air-bag deployment for small humans and 4-legged family members.

Harness and Tether - Always use a tether and attach it to a harness - NEVER attach to pup's collar. At the time of this writing, there are not any industry standards for testing and certifying pet restraints. Make sure that the solution you choose attaches to the vehicle by either plugging into the seatbelt socket or the latch bar (as used by child car seats)
